For as long as anyone can remember, the Gold Falls tumbled over the cliffs of Aversil. The Gold Falls once dropped more than 2,000 feet, thundering along a narrow gorge of glacier-polished rock. Now that the riverbed and waterfall are dry, however, only damp rock and a few rapidly drying pools remain.
A tree with leaves – each containing a single blinking eye – grows at the base of the falls. Those who draw near the tree can hear it whispering in a strange language, though no one knows why it speaks or what it is saying.
